World Heritage Site!

This morning, County Judge Nelson Wolff and Mayor Ivy Taylor held a joint press conference in front of the Alamo to celebrate the designation of San Antonio's Missions as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO World Heritage Centre. Lewis, David and Mark from the office were on hand to show their support for this momentous occasion. The Alamo and the other surviving missions become the first World Heritage Site in Texas and the 23rd site in the United States. We congratulate all the men and women who were recognized at the event and who contributed to making this day possible after a nine year process. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for these unique gifts, as Fr. David Garcia referred to them this morning, and how we can all contribute to their preservation so that they may be cherished for another 300 years.
