Thoughts

Wayfinding can be challenge with a sprawling church campus and some times growth overtime can cause features like the main entrance to the building to get lost, causing confusion for first time visitors. Woodland Church, nestled in a heavily wooded site within a growing neighborhood, began feeling this was the case with their church after feedback from visitors. After completing a new entrance portal within the interior courtyard of the campus, the church reached out to us to help redefine the front entrance into the worship hall so that it would be clear to visitors and would help draw attention from the street. The proposed design features more glass and an elevated entrance canopy that introduces smooth cut limestone and warm stained wood to the front facade.
