ALBL Oberammergau
Yesterday, we had the privilege of hosting ALBL Oberammergau, a religious woodcarving / sculpture studio from Oberammergau, Germany! Johannes Albl and his family were nice enough to drop in and give us (and a small group of architects who do a lot of religious work) a presentation on their company's heritage and show examples of their amazing sculptural work. So far, the Albl family's traditional woodcarving techniques can be traced all the way back to the year 1556. All their work is handcrafted, with about 80% of it being custom pieces for various clients all over Europe and the United States.
