IN PROGRESS: Witte Building Facade Restoration

The final new project we are highlighting this week is the Witte Building Facade Restoration project. This 1894 masonry building, located on the San Antonio Riverwalk, has seen better days and has been in a state of disrepair for years. Thankfully, local developer, Chris Hill, is breathing new life into the building by transforming it into a mixed-use property that will include a restaurant, office space and residential units within. Through a partnership with Douglas Architects, Fisher Heck has been tasked with the restoration of the front facade of the building back to its 1894 roots. This will involve extensive masonry work throughout the facade including the recreation of a massive limestone parapet with decorative arched friezes, cornices and pinnacles that will re-establish the building's original identity.
