Thoughts

VIA Metropolitan Transit continues their push toward more sustainable and environmentally conscious properties by retrofitting many of their existing transit center sites with a more sustainable approach. Case in point is the VIA Ingram Transit Center, located on the west end of Loop 410, just off of Ingram Road. This site take many of the strategies that were incorporated into the VIA 5-Points project and expands on them to transform this existing concrete heavy site into more of a park-like setting with lush vegetation, multiple outdoor shaded seating areas and natural meandering pathways. The existing building itself will get overhauled with new interior an exterior finishes, new energy efficient mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, and an overall larger waiting space for visitors.
