Thoughts

Sometimes its the little things that make all the difference. Such was the case within the University of Texas Health Science Center where the old 18,000 sf Dolph Briscoe Jr Library was transformed into 10 new state-of-the-art instructional / lab classrooms, student meeting rooms and seating areas. The client also wanted to use unique materials, where the budget would allow, that would appeal better to the student population. We accomplished this by integrating fun, undulating metal ceiling panels over the seating areas to help better define those spaces. Acoustics were also a concern and so high sound absorptive carpet tiles were used in the low traffic areas.
