Thoughts

The Refugio House is a quaint 1920’s craftsman style house in the historic Lavaca neighborhood and was purchased by a couple from out of town with the vision of making it their forever home. The existing 1,000 sf house on it own however, was not large enough to accommodate the couple’s programmatic long-term needs and thus sought out to expand the home’s footprint to feature an attached one-car garage, family room, and upstairs bedroom suite. The small lot and historic neighborhood restrictions made the new design challenging, but ultimately very efficient while also providing a spacious open-concept interior. The project is currently in the bidding & permitting phase.
