Thoughts
Situated on a prominent corner site within the King William Historic District, these townhomes serve as a contemporary homage to the neighborhood’s storied past. The design is a sophisticated response to the local Victorian vernacular, intentionally crafted to stitch the new development into the dense, ornate fabric of San Antonio’s first historic district. By drawing from the vertical proportions and decorative intricacy of late 19th-century architecture, the project replaces the "big box" multi-family feel with a rhythmic streetscape of distinct, individual identities. Ultimately, the project proves that high-density modern living doesn't have to clash with heritage. Through the strategic use of traditional proportions and a palette that respects the neighborhood’s aesthetic DNA, these townhomes provide a fresh chapter for the district while remaining profoundly rooted in its history.
