St. Padre Pio Site Plan

The Shrine of Saint Padre Pio of Pietrelcina Master Plan

Located in North Central San Antonio, the Shrine of Saint Padre Pio of Pietrelcina will sit on 29 acres of densely wooded land.

Fisher Heck was hired to design the master plan for the church and took advantage of the site’s natural features. Only unnecessary trees were sacrificed and the remaining ones were used to provide both a visual and sound barrier from the surrounding development.

The complex is to be built in phases and will include a 1200 seat church, parish hall, outdoor worship area, school, gymnasium, child development center and athletic fields. The building will be built around a large open plaza with a 75 foot bell tower reminiscent of those found in Italian hill towns.

The church, parish hall and a 75 foot bell tower anchoring the southwest corner of the plaza will be built in phase one. Remaining buildings will be built in later phases a fund raising generates additional capital.
