Chemistry and Geology Building
San Antonio College
The facility required multiple building systems improvements, including site drainage and grading redesign, increasing the building’s energy efficiency, implementing new spatial requirements to meet current educational standards and criteria, and computer and technology systems upgrades based on new curriculum requirements of the College.
Drainage and moisture protection improvements consist of removing, re-grading and reinstalling sidewalks and landscape areas, applying new below-grade waterproofing at basement walls, and replacing deteriorated concrete areaways and drains at basement window locations. New windows, insulation on the exterior walls, along with a complete new roofing system will control moisture and improve the energy performance of the building.
New space-planning of the entire building incorporates modifications requested by faculty and administration and fully utilizes all the building’s available space. |
